Role Objective

The Vice President of Operations will act as the General Manager, overseeing all distribution activities to guarantee efficient order fulfillment, streamlined logistics, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role is crucial for driving operational excellence, enhancing processes, and cultivating a high-performance culture within the organization. The Vice President will play a key role in supporting the company's growth and upholding its reputation for quality and reliability in the competitive NYC market.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of operational leadership within the wine and spirits sector or a closely related industry. They will demonstrate strong strategic thinking capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The candidate should be skilled in managing complex logistics, with a meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for fostering and maintaining relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily distribution operations, ensuring timely and precise order fulfillment.
  • Manage logistics, including inventory oversight, warehousing, and transportation.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to promote continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to secure optimal products and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to the importation and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Establish and maintain robust quality control processes to ensure product integrity.
  • Address and resolve any operational challenges or customer complaints promptly.
  • Support the overall business strategy and collaborate closely with the executive team to achieve company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the wine and spirits industry or a similar sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing logistics, distribution, and supply chain functions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for alcohol importation and distribution.
