Position Overview:

This role is dedicated to employing various assessment techniques to identify and assess patient therapeutic, fitness, health behaviors, and/or athletic performance exercise requirements.

The responsibilities may encompass advanced diagnostic evaluations. The professional collaborates with patients and clients to create tailored treatment plans aimed at supporting rehabilitation, health improvement, fitness enhancement, and/or athletic performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts evaluations for new patients and clients to ascertain therapy, treatment, and exercise program necessities.
  • Administers diagnostic stress assessments, health risk evaluations, and/or fitness examinations while monitoring patient responses.
  • Designs exercise regimens that effectively target patients' short-term and long-term aspirations.
  • Assists patients with prescribed therapeutic and/or fitness-related exercises.
  • Provides comprehensive education to patients regarding their exercise plans, health requirements, and associated risks.
  • May offer mentorship, training, and orientation as required.
  • Guides student interns as designated by the supervising Exercise Physiologist.
  • May facilitate community fitness, health, and/or athletic performance training, capable of leading both in-person and virtual group fitness sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Proficient knowledge of exercise prescription and safe cardiovascular training methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution (degree verification required).
  • At least one year of clinical experience in a hospital environment, with successful completion of the EP EKG competency assessment.
  • If in a wellness context, an advanced health and wellness certification along with one year of experience working with special populations is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as an exercise physiologist.

Physical Requirements:

  • Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling.

Work Hours: 40 hours per week. The hourly compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
