Job Title: Senior Port Planner

Job Summary:

Hatch is seeking a highly experienced Senior Port Planner to join its dynamic Ports & Terminals team. The successful candidate will coordinate all planning engagements and pursuits across the US region, providing professional planning and engineering services to effectively manage and coordinate the preparation of long-range port master plans and terminal expansion/optimization plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to execute planning and layout assignments, terminal capacity assessments, debottlenecking and optimization studies, and business improvement and optimization engagements.
  • Develop client relations and promote Hatch's extensive project design and delivery services with clients.
  • Track and follow markets and opportunities in the region & sector, identifying and developing knowledge of junior staff and assisting with staff development and recruitment.
  • Provide input and strategy to proposal preparation and be aware of industry technical requirements, trends, and opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in professional excellence groups and promote and support technical excellence and quality of work.

Requirements:

  • University degree in transportation planning, or a degree in civil, marine, or mechanical engineering.
  • 15 years' experience with similar engagements, including experience in executing planning and layout assignments, terminal capacity assessments, debottlenecking and optimization studies, and business improvement and optimization engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of professionals across multiple concurrent engagements and deep familiarity with the maritime industry, common cargoes, and a variety of marine facilities.
  • Fluency with the Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint, and basic ArcGIS familiarity.
