Position Overview

Role Summary

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will engage in a range of legal functions to uphold the integrity and interests of the organization while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in providing legal guidance that aligns with the company’s operational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal advice to various departments regarding contract management, commercial dealings, employment matters, and more.
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of business agreements, including vendor contracts, customer contracts, service agreements, licensing deals, development contracts, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Act on behalf of the organization in legal disputes before courts, regulatory bodies, or other entities to safeguard the company’s interests.
  • Oversee litigation processes and dispute resolution efforts, including formulating responses to governmental inquiries and other formal proceedings.
  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of legal documents prior to execution to ensure they accurately reflect the company’s intentions. Participate in acquisition and development initiatives.
  • Review public communications from a legal perspective to identify and mitigate potential legal risks. Stay informed on legal publications and legislative changes; advise management on implications for the organization.
  • Draft legal contracts, agreements, and various documents related to trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters (e.g., loans, leases, purchase agreements, acquisitions, employment contracts) to protect the organization’s legal and business interests.
  • Analyze and interpret legal precedents, court rulings, and existing laws to prepare detailed reports on their implications for the organization’s operations. Prepare documentation for external legal counsel.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies and assist in their administration, particularly in collaboration with Human Resources and Compliance teams.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Juris Doctor Degree.

Licensure:

  • Active member of a state bar in good standing.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience providing legal counsel in a law firm or corporate environment.

Additional Skills:

  • Proven experience in developing legal strategies for complex and high-profile matters.
  • Ability to provide legal advice to senior executives and leadership teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects with varying deadlines.
