Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing educational support to students with special needs, helping them to succeed academically, socially, and physically.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with students, parents, and other educators to create and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Provide Instruction and Support: Deliver high-quality instruction and provide individualized support to students with special needs, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Assess and Monitor Student Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions to support student success.
- Communicate with Parents and Colleagues: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
- Participate in Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and to enhance your skills and knowledge as an educator.
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Special Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in special education or a related field is required.
- Valid Alabama Teacher Certificate: A valid Alabama teacher certificate in special education is required.
- Background Clearance: A background clearance is required for this position.
