About the Role

Optime Care Inc is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate to gain insurance coverage for prescribed therapies.
  • Language Support: Specialize in assisting with translating calls using English or Spanish, whichever the patient prefers.
  • Profile Creation: Welcoming new patients and creating profiles with all the critical information.
  • Insurance Verification: Conduct periodic insurance verification and/or authorizations for patient coverage.
  • Claims Filing: File claims for patient prescriptions and orders.
  • Collection Activities: Complete collection activities per client program specifications.
  • Benefit Explanation: Investigation and benefit explanation to patient, initial and ongoing.
  • Prior Authorizations: Obtain and maintain Prior Authorizations.
  • Order Creation: Create patient orders and associated prescription entries for new and refilled prescriptions.
  • Prescriber Communication: Communicate with prescribers, including requesting new prescriptions.
  • Billings: Bill for RX drugs and administration supplies.
  • Financial Assistance: Assist patients with possible financial assistance.
  • Document Preparation: Arrange all necessary documents and materials for initial and ongoing shipments.
  • Delivery Coordination: Coordinate all deliveries and process any patient returns.
  • Consent Forms: Obtain necessary consent forms for manufacturers or patient support organizations.
  • Pharmacist Support: Assist pharmacists with day-to-day tasks such as filling prescriptions and entering prescription information into the patient management system for pharmacist verification.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Assist in preparing any ad hoc report request from clients.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of experience with medical/pharmacy insurance verification, including benefit investigation.
  • Language Skills: Experience using both English/Spanish languages in a professional capacity.
  • Licenses: Current Missouri BOP Pharmacy Technician license or Nurse license in good standing.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Knowledge of medical/pharmacy insurance benefit language- ie. EOBs, deductibles, out-of-pocket, co-insurance, co-pays, etc.
  • Coding Knowledge: Ability to define CMS 1500s, provider numbers, CPT, HCPC's, ICD9, NCPDP and NDC codes/numbers.
  • Medicare and Medicaid: Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing.
  • Patient Assistance Program: Patient Assistance Program knowledge a plus.
  • Prior Authorization: Experience with prior authorization and SMN preparation.
  • Insurance Claim Appeals: Knowledge of insurance claim appeals.
  • Computer Skills: Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Teamwork: Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Attention to Detail: Relentless attention to detail and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
