Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children's Hospital. As a Per Diem Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced labor and delivery unit, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring women and their newborns, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in high-risk labor and delivery cases, including cesarean sections and other complex deliveries.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure excellent patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in labor and delivery nursing, including neonatal care and high-risk labor and delivery.
Requirements
  • BLS AHA certification (RQI not accepted)
  • NRP certification
  • 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience
  • 2 supervisory references within the last year (no charge nurses)
  • Preferred: AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced certifications
Work Environment

Our labor and delivery unit is a 4-bay triage unit that sees patients from 20 weeks to postpartum within 6 weeks. We have 12 labor rooms, 3 operating rooms, and 2 bay PACU. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes.
