Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Wind Turbine Technician to join our team at AES. As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. This is a skilled position that requires a strong understanding of wind turbine technology and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Recognize occurrences of wind turbine error codes and report the problem.
  • Assist with removal and installation of wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
  • Assist with heavy equipment rigging and directing.
  • Interface closely with team leaders.
  • Perform wind turbine controller maintenance and repair.
  • Complete required reports and other paperwork.
  • Assist with high-voltage system maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Maintain accurate care of company tools and vehicles.
Requirements
  • High School diploma required.
  • Knowledge in a technical trade, maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and/or operations is strongly preferred.
  • Certificate and/or Associate's degree in Wind Turbine Technology is a huge plus.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' experience with GE 1.5, Vestas V-80, and/or Siemens 2.3 turbines.
  • Experience working with GE, Vestas, and/or Siemens SCADA systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to understand and follow customary instructions in order to perform the essential functions of the position in a satisfactory manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions.
