We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive FP&A Analyst to join our finance team at AmTrust Financial Services. The ideal candidate will work closely with FP&A leadership and be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis, supporting strategic decision-making processes.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning and Analysis- Maintain and continuously improve financial models supporting quarterly management reporting.
- Perform variance analysis comparing actuals to budget and prior years for the company.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Support implementation of budgeting and forecasting system solution across global FP&A.
- Participate in implementation of AI-based solutions within FP&A department.
- Prepare regular financial reports for senior management.
- Support preparation of various presentations for external stakeholders including rating agencies, regulators as well as Board of Directors.
- Prepare various ad-hoc analysis for management.
- Work closely with other FP&A teams to deliver timely quarterly reporting results.
- Maintain strong relationships with Controllers ensuring effective collaboration between teams.
- Collaborate with other departments across the Company to address financial needs and challenges.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of new system.
- Develop and document processes for using the new system, including training staff and creating user guides.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure accurate and efficient financial planning processes.
- Assess the potential benefits of incorporating AI technologies into FP&A processes.
- Collaborate with IT and data science teams to explore and implement AI tools and solutions to enhance financial analysis, forecasting and reporting.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AI solutions and recommend improvements.
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CFA, CPA) are a plus.
- 5-7 years of total professional experience in FP&A.
- Understanding of GAAP and Statutory accounting.
- Strong General Insurance knowledge, including exposure to analysis of full Income Statement of insurance company.
- Advanced skills in Excel, familiarity with modern business intelligence tools (Power Query, Power Pivot, PowerBI) as well as experience with Power Point.
- Experience with system implementation (Oracle, SAP) a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Detailed-oriented with ability to see a "big picture".
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to challenge status quo.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Salary Range: $110K - $135K per year. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Jersey City, New Jersey. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
