Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team at Kohler. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for improving plant materials and material processes to maintain our competitive position in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply advanced theories, methods, and research techniques to investigate and solve complex technical problems.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach to achieve solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Optimize material formulations and components for safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
  • Manage formulation and raw material change process, including evaluation, approval, and implementation.
  • Maintain and improve material formulations, operating procedures, and other processes to meet and exceed safety, quality, cost, and production objectives.
  • Provide technical support to production teams related to troubleshooting process or product issues.
  • Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement projects to support plant manufacturing initiatives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to ensure proposed improvements meet objectives with respect to safety, quality, market demands, competitive costs, and financial criteria.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Four or more years of relative work experience.
  • Past results include successful technical leadership on a major project.
  • Experience with SMC, compression molding a plus.
