Pediatric Hospitalist

As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will provide comprehensive 24/7 coverage for Acute Care units, acting as the primary pediatrician for patients during their hospital stay. Your role will involve close collaboration with primary care physicians and various subspecialists to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct rapid assessments for pediatric patients experiencing acute health changes.
2. Supervise and coordinate transfers to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit when necessary, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
3. Mentor and educate the next generation of pediatricians by overseeing Residents during Patient Centered Rounds.
4. Engage actively in medical staff committees to review and enhance medical care practices, focusing on patient safety.
5. Adhere to national guidelines and evidence-based practices to deliver the highest standard of care.
Clinical Pathways Development:
Participate in the development and monitoring of clinical pathways for various conditions, including but not limited to:
- Asthma
- Bronchiolitis
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis
- Pneumonia
- Sepsis
Inpatient Care Responsibilities:
Hospitalists are available around the clock to support nursing staff and case managers, ensuring efficient patient care and rapid admissions from the Emergency Department to inpatient units.
Work Schedule:
Flexible schedule with 7 shifts of 24 hours each month.
Qualifications:
- Board Eligible or Certified
- Completion of fellowship training
- Eligibility for California medical license
Compensation:
