Position Overview:
The Pediatric Hospitalist will provide comprehensive 24/7 coverage on Acute Care units, acting as the primary pediatrician during patient admissions. This role involves close collaboration with primary care physicians and various subspecialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct rapid assessments for pediatric patients experiencing acute health issues.
- Supervise and coordinate transfers to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit when necessary, and manage care for patients transitioning from intensive care to acute care.
- Mentor and educate future pediatricians by overseeing Residents during Patient Centered Rounds.
- Engage in medical staff committees to evaluate and enhance medical care practices, promoting patient safety.
- Adhere to national guidelines and evidence-based practices to deliver the highest standard of care.

Clinical Pathways Development:
The Pediatric Hospitalist will be involved in the development and monitoring of clinical pathways for various conditions, including but not limited to:
- Asthma
- Bronchiolitis
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis
- Pneumonia
- Sepsis

This role ensures efficient patient admissions, facilitating swift transitions from the Emergency Department to inpatient units, thereby optimizing care delivery.

Inpatient Care Responsibilities:
Hospitalists are accessible to nursing staff and case managers around the clock, ensuring seamless patient care.

Work Schedule:
Flexible 7 shifts per month, each lasting 24 hours.

Qualifications:
- Board Eligible or Certified
- Completion of a fellowship program
- Eligibility for California medical license
