Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Education Service Center Region 13. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Perform tasks to keep school buildings and grounds in orderly, neat, and clean condition, including clearing and disposing of trash, cleaning bathrooms and floors, washing windows, dusting furniture and fixtures, mowing grass, and related tasks.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform tasks to maintain buildings and grounds in safe and operable condition, including making minor repairs to property as requested, clearing snow and ice, and related tasks.
- Inspection and Reporting: Inspect equipment and facilities, and recommend repair or replacement action to supervisor.
- Energy Management: Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical use of fuel, water, and electricity.
- Security and Access: Check all building entrances/exits to ensure that they are working properly, and open and close building and ensure that all doors and windows are closed and securely locked prior to leaving.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, and fuel, and place orders as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of maintenance tasks.
- Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain records to document work and repairs as requested.
- Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School Diploma, successful experience in building and grounds maintenance, and repair, and Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of fundamental tools, materials, practices, maintenance, methods and procedures in the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades, knowledge of building code conformance standards for carpentry, plumbing, electricity, electrical installation, and repair, knowledge of occupational safety and health laws and regulations, ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and ability to coordinate work with others.
