Job Description

United Airlines is seeking a highly skilled IT Application Development Manager to lead the strategic technology direction for Premium Services and Airport Lounges. This role will oversee the planning and delivery of new solutions that improve the customer experience and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technology strategies to enhance the customer experience and operations
  • Lead agile development and testing teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize business needs and coordinate technology development
  • Analyze data to ensure features align with product goals and objectives
  • Conduct on-site observations and evaluations to identify solutions that improve operations and customer experience
  • Manage vendor partnerships to deliver on application capabilities
  • Provide strategic roadmaps for application maturity and business value
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or relevant field of study
  • Product management experience with customer-facing software solutions
  • Modern software development processes, standards, and delivery models
  • Agile and Scrum knowledge
  • Strong negotiation skills to initiate and manage IT contracts
  • Ability to quickly triage and drive resolution efforts for production support situations
  • Solid project management skills, including prioritization, planning, and organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of customer-facing software development experience
  • 2-3 years of operations or continuous improvement experience
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Figma, ServiceNow, Miro, or related product management tools
  • Prior experience in airport operations and understanding of United Airlines operations
