Job Title: Part-time School Bus Driver

University Preparatory Academy is seeking a part-time school bus driver to join our transportation team. As a part-time school bus driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and extracurricular activities.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the part-time school bus driver will drive a school bus on prescribed routes as assigned by the Transportation Manager. The driver will be responsible for ensuring the safety of students on board and following established safety procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive a school bus to and from school and extracurricular activities
  • Follow established safety procedures
  • Perform pre-trip safety inspections of the bus
  • Monitor the operating conditions of the bus and report any needed servicing or repairs
  • Keep the bus interior clean
  • Attend training programs and meetings as scheduled
  • Comply with state laws, rules, and regulations and school policies relative to student transportation
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Clean driving record required
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsements and Air Brake restriction removed preferred
  • Valid Washington State Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate required for CDL applicants
  • Experience working with kids preferred
Requirements:
  • Good and safe driving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates flexibility, cooperation, energy, enthusiasm, and an understanding of a school environment
  • Flexibility, maturity, and a sense of humor
