School Bus Driver Job Opportunity

Job Summary

  Evergreen Public Schools is seeking a skilled School Bus Driver to ensure the safe transportation of students on scheduled routes and district-approved activities. This role involves not only driving but also maintaining control of student passengers, inspecting and cleaning school buses, and performing various safety-related tasks.


Responsibilities
  • Drive a school bus on designated routes and trips in support of district-approved activities within and outside the school district boundaries.
  • Inspect and clean school buses and related equipment, including providing roadside services such as installing tire chains.
  • Maintain control of student passengers for their safety.
  • Complete forms, records, and reports as required by the State or local school district policies.
  • Perform basic first aid, including CPR, as necessary.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged sitting in the school bus seat for a minimum 3-hour period.
  • Be physically able to maneuver and control a school bus under all driving conditions.
  • Perform daily routine school bus vehicle safety inspections.
  • Hold sufficient strength and agility to move about in a school bus to provide assistance to students during evacuation.
  • Hang a set of tire chains.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Obtain a Washington State CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
  • Acquire a Washington State School Bus Driver's certificate.
  • Hold a valid First Aid/CPR card.
  • Have sufficient command of the English language to communicate with students, parents, district staff members, and others regarding job-related activities.
  • Read and interpret road maps and street guides.
  • Write legibly and maintain required records.
  • Establish positive working relationships.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Pass a physical examination, including vision and hearing tests.
  • Have no mental, nervous, organic, or functional disease or psychiatric disorder that could compromise safe commercial motor vehicle operation.

Salary Information

We offer an estimated annual salary of $60,000 to $80,000 based on experience, making Evergreen Public Schools an attractive employer in the region.
