Business Analyst Job Description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to the success of our client team. This role involves documenting business requirements, analyzing processes, and supporting system testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in documenting business requirements and user stories generated in working sessions with stakeholders.
  • Analyze business process requirements and assist in preparing supporting documentation for the concept and definition phases of the project.
  • Collaborate in planning system testing for IT solutions to ensure that test conditions, scripts, validation criteria, and expected results will successfully test the business requirements.
  • Document and track requirements using the appropriate requirement management tools.
  • Perform necessary research to fully understand business issues, develop possible solutions, and support the development of innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Requirements:
  • General understanding of the insurance industry, its products, practices, and operations.
  • General understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or agile principles.
  • Surety industry knowledge preferred but not required.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills to translate business needs and convey business requirements and technical needs in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, Jira, Confluence, Lucid, and other business-related software systems.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically a minimum of two years of experience in business analysis or other related experience, such as accounting, finance, insurance operations, or computer science with prior experience identifying and documenting business requirements.
  • Completion of coursework towards applicable certifications preferred.
  • SAFe Practitioner certification preferred but not required.
