Job Summary

This position is located at a US Army base and is responsible for managing youth recreational activities and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in equipment maintenance, inventory, and instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of youth recreational activities and skills in the use of various types of recreation equipment.
  • Instruct children/youth on proper use of variety of equipment.
  • Issue/receive recreational equipment and identify age-appropriate equipment for procurement.
  • Maintain hand receipts and collect all inventoried items.
  • Inspect supplies and equipment for damage and ensure sufficient supplies are on hand and equipment in good condition.
  • Assist in setting up sports events and may assist in athletic programs as needed.
  • Maintain an effective safety and accident prevention program.
  • Conduct daily safety and maintenance checks of facilities, grounds, and outdoor recreation areas.
  • Recommend purchase of equipment required to maintain proper facility safety compliance.
  • Operate various types of equipment for athletic field maintenance.
Requirements
  • Progressively responsible work experience that provided knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance, inventory, ordering and instructing.
  • Use of various recreation equipment.
  • Good customer relations skills.
  • Must be physically able to walk, bend, stoop, stand on a routine basis.
  • Lift supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
