We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Protection Security Specialist to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our asset protection team, you will play a critical role in preventing and reducing loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities. You will also be responsible for reducing shrink and improving margins.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model Customer 1st Behavior: Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Detect and Deter External Theft: Identify and prevent external theft suspects.
  • Reduce Customer and Associate Dishonesty: Initiate and encourage actions to prevent external and internal theft.
  • Monitor Large Shrink Areas: Identify and address areas of high shrink.
  • Report Incidents: Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
  • Support Customer and Associate Relations: Communicate and train associates to promote a positive and safe work environment.
  • Provide Credible Court Testimony: Provide expert testimony in court proceedings.
  • Identify Areas of High Theft: Analyze data to identify areas of high theft.
  • Verify Compliance: Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Promote Company Initiatives: Promote and follow company initiatives to reduce loss and improve margins.
  • Maintain Flexibility: Work any shift, overtime, and weekends as needed.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer Policies: Understand and apply Fred Meyer policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice: Possess a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field.
  • Retail Security Experience: Have experience in retail security or a related field.
  • Law Enforcement Experience: Possess law enforcement experience or a related field.
  • Ability to Continue Education: Commit to ongoing education and training.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum Age Requirement: Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years old (21 years old in Alaska).
  • Ability to Pass a Drug Test: Pass a drug test.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to Handle Sensitive Information: Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to Organize and Prioritize Tasks: Organize and prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
  • Familiarity with Loss Prevention Terms: Understand loss prevention terms and processes.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Skills: Possess proficient Microsoft Office skills.
