The Senior Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the production of high-quality goods while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints. This role involves providing strategic leadership and direction to various manufacturing sectors, including Molding, Extrusion, Assembly Automation, and Packaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues and team members to meet critical performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the establishment of essential departmental performance indicators.
  • Directly supervise and mentor staff within the assigned departments.
  • Ensure all team members receive the necessary training to perform their roles effectively.
  • Guarantee compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.
  • Manage the annual budget for the departments, including staffing, operational costs, and capital investments.
  • Review and authorize personnel changes, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and promotions.
  • Champion Employee Safety initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and address material shortages, equipment issues, and workforce challenges to maintain production efficiency.
  • Support initiatives aimed at process enhancement, cost reduction, and program development.
  • Implement best practices for planning, scheduling, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Provide insights to the Supply Planning team regarding inventory strategies for existing and new products.
  • Facilitate communication regarding supply shortages and recovery plans with relevant teams.
  • Lead efforts to identify and resolve production-related challenges.
  • Engage regularly with senior management on matters affecting multiple functional areas.
  • Ensure departmental adherence to all regulatory requirements, including FDA, EPA, OSHA, and ISO standards.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and foster a culture of respect, commitment, and trust.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing practices, processes, and support activities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proven track record of implementing large-scale improvements in complex environments.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and business control software.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple locations with diverse teams.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on developing future leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Advanced analytical skills for effective decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years in a leadership role within manufacturing.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting, preferably in Injection Molding or Medical Device production.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires effective communication and may involve sedentary tasks with occasional filing.
  • Work is conducted in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment.
  • May involve working in a clean room environment.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods is necessary.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 25 lbs may be required.
