Job Summary

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Security Operations Center Lead to join our team. As a key member of our 24/7/365 Security Operations Center (Sentry), you will play a critical role in safeguarding our people, customers, facilities, branches, cafes, and assets.

This role requires a strong leader who can manage a dedicated shift of teammates responsible for emergency response, alarm and event monitoring, incident detection, triage, and notification. You will provide support, guidance, training, and accountability to your team and assist in the identification and execution of Sentry processes and initiatives.

During real-time security or safety events, you may take lead in facilitating cross-functional communications and/or working directly with the Enterprise Crisis Management team.

This position involves shared rotating on-call responsibilities and may occasionally work across different shifts and centers for coverage, including weekends and/or holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Security Operations Specialists and contract Watch Officers
  • Collaborate with other Sentry supervisors to ensure knowledge sharing and manage schedules
  • Create engagement opportunities for teammates across and within shifts
  • Review and provide feedback on Sentry training and develop learning opportunities
  • Complete audits and quality assurance reviews of processes and procedures
  • Continuously look for ways to simplify and improve processes
  • Keep abreast of current and emerging threats and trends
  • Coordinate communications and maintain critical system statuses in emergency situations
  • Support project managers on new installs and projects involving security monitoring
  • Support investigations of critical incidents

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience managing people in an emergency operations center, security operations center, crisis, or call center setting
  • At least 1 year of experience with Google for Business suite applications
