Job Summary

At Start Bright Academy, we are seeking a dedicated and caring Childcare Floater to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will provide support to our teaching team and ensure a safe and nurturing environment for our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coverage for other staff members during breaks and planning time
  • Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child
  • Participate in open communication with parents and maintain confidentiality
  • Report any suspect abuse to a supervisor
  • Keep the classroom environment clean and organized
  • Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
  • Attend in-service and staff meetings
  • Keep accurate records of attendance and time sheets
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must meet State of VA requirements as a childcare center worker
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified or obtain certification within the first week of employment
  • Formal education in Early Childhood Education is preferred
  • Ongoing professional development in child development is required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport with families and community members
  • Must meet physical requirements of the job, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position with a schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The hourly rate is $9.50 - $12.00 per hour, and benefits include 401(k) and employee discount.
