Job Overview

At Start Bright Academy, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Childcare Floater. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing exceptional care and education to children in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Teaching Team in a variety of age ranges, from 6 weeks to 12 years old, to ensure a safe and consistent youth development environment.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the entire faculty to establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child, while promoting their overall well-being and development.
  • Participate in open communication with parents, maintaining confidentiality and reporting any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
  • Report any suspect abuse to the supervisor, adhering to all applicable licensing regulations and company policies.
  • Clean and arrange the classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy, ensuring a safe and healthy space for children to learn and grow.
  • Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Attend in-service and staff meetings, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Keep accurate records, including attendance and time sheets, to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years old and meet State of VA requirements as a childcare center worker.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or obtain certification within the first week of employment.
  • Formal education in Early Childhood Education is preferred, but not required.
  • Ongoing professional development in the field of child development is essential for success in this role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective collaboration with colleagues and parents.
  • Demonstrate organizational abilities and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Ability to build rapport with families and community members, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Must meet physical requirements of the job, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday. The ability to commute to Bealeton, VA 22712 is required.
