Assistant General Merchandise Manager

The Assistant General Merchandise Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving business results. This role supports the General Merchandise Manager in leading the efficient, effective, safe, legal, and profitable operations of the GM Department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to guest satisfaction and employee engagement.
• Assist the General Merchandise Manager in developing and implementing department strategies, including ordering, merchandising, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain a positive and productive work environment, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction and employee morale.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members, helping them to grow and succeed in their roles.
• Assist with the coordination of inventory processes, including receiving, stocking, and reporting.
• Ensure that all department assets are safeguarded, controlled, and monitored, with policies and procedures implemented for asset control.
• Maintain a high level of store cleanliness, organization, and a safe work environment, encouraging team members to do the same.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year General Merchandise experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs on a regular basis and perform other physical aspects of the job, including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking.
• Strong technical skills, including basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email).
• Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner.
• Flexibility to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.
• Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
