Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager to join our team at HMB Professional Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design of drinking water distribution and/or wastewater collection systems, as well as assisting in the design of wastewater and water treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead the design of drinking water distribution and/or wastewater collection systems, and assist in designing wastewater and water treatment plants.
  • Feasibility Studies: Assess the need for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future population and/or development demands, and conduct feasibility studies for the construction of public utility infrastructure to meet identified needs.
  • Technology Analysis: Analyze, or assist with analysis of, various water and/or wastewater treatment technologies, and recommend the most effective method.
  • Design and Development: Design and develop specifications for assigned projects.
  • Technical Reporting: Conduct feasibility and related studies regarding the collection, treatment, or distribution of water or wastewater, and prepare written technical reports.
  • Client Support: Provide clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on water resources related issues.
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis: Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
  • Marketing Alignment: Align with marketing team on RFQs, presentations, and scoping projects.
  • Team Development: Train and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Education: BS or MS in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • Registration: Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience: Strongly preferred experience designing water and/or wastewater treatment plants, in part or in whole. 10+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources field.
  • Project Management: Project and/or Client Management experience is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills. Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs and deadlines. Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
