Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing a visible presence at store entrances and exits, mitigating theft and fraud, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment:
    • Understand and practice safe behaviors in everything you do, and assist store leadership in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both associates and customers.
    • Provide a visible presence, including prominent greetings with eye contact, at store entrances and exits, and on the sales floor, monitoring for potential safety issues.
    • Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Developing Great Teams and Partnerships:
    • Provide great customer service by prominently greeting customers, making eye contact, smiling, and answering questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
    • Treat all customers and associates with respect.
    • Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times, recognizing associates using company recognition programs.
    • Regular involvement with internal and external partners, including conference calls, scheduled district meetings, educating associates, providing recognition, and other duties as assigned to support loss prevention initiatives.
  • Mitigating Theft and Fraud:
    • Monitor entrances and exits, as well as the sales floor, for potential theft by identifying suspicious behavior.
    • Gather theft indicators and use internal or external intelligence to impact shortage trends, effectively communicating with store leadership and loss prevention leadership.
    • Adhere to company policy for external theft response.
    • Execute all company best practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working.
  • Minimizing Operational Shortage:
    • Increase store awareness on effective processes to minimize operational shortage, training and educating associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
    • Observe and validate proper checkout procedures for customers and associates.
Requirements
  • Education: High school education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.
  • Experience: One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred, one year loss prevention/security training preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Active Security Guard License preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, strong communication skills, demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team, excellent customer service skills, proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
