Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

NY CREATES is looking for candidates for the role of Metrology SEM/FIB/TEM Analysis Technician to join its 300mm semiconductor development facilities.

This role entails conducting off-line SEM/TEM & FIB characterization analysis of structures and devices developed on 300mm silicon wafers.

The successful candidate will report to the Metrology Manager, who in turn reports to the Director of Metrology Services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Efficient daily operation of SEM, FIB, and TEM instruments for analytical purposes
- Conduct SEM analysis on samples provided by collaborating partners and on-site clients
- Execute FIB-SEM and FIB preparation of TEM samples from the customer base
- Occasionally perform TEM analysis on samples submitted by clients
- Maintain clear communication and prompt interaction with requestors to fully comprehend analysis requirements and report results
- Prioritize tasks when faced with multiple requests
- Ensure timely communication of analysis outcomes
- Submit and track analysis requests in accordance with ISO procedures
- Maintain an analysis queue database as per ISO requirements
- Attend technology group meetings to provide insights on metrology techniques
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of structures and materials submitted for analysis
- Strive to minimize turnaround time for all SEM, FIB, and TEM tasks
- Monitor operations and schedule effective maintenance of SEM/FIB/TEM to optimize tool uptime
- Expand the capabilities of the SEM/FIB/TEM toolset by developing additional sample preparation procedures such as wet-etch delineation and plasma etching
- Collaborate with other on-site groups to utilize additional equipment as necessary
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


An Associate's degree in an engineering or science-related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience, including at least 6 years in the semiconductor industry or research and development.

The candidate must possess a working knowledge of one or more process tools or modules essential for constructing advanced CMOS devices; demonstrate proficiency in IT infrastructure, including manufacturing execution system applications, project planning, and proactive contributions to process solutions for test wafer flows and equipment assessment; exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; and thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment.

The candidate must be adaptable to execute various tasks on short notice. Familiarity with MS Office and semiconductor equipment operation is highly recommended.
Willingness to work evening or off shifts is required.
This position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check; annual background checks may be necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


A bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related discipline from an accredited institution.

4+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry as a metrology, SEM/FIB/TEM, or FA technician is strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience of at least 2 years with SEM instrument operation, including sample preparation by cleaving or FIB, is desired. Experience with FIB sample preparation for TEM and TEM analysis is also preferred.
