Maintenance Technician Job Description

Pallidus, Inc. is a leading producer of large diameter Silicon Carbide wafers for high power and high frequency semiconductor applications. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment in support of our manufacturing operation. This is a night shift position (6PM-6AM) with a $2/hour shift differential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance of various equipment, including vacuum furnaces, machining equipment, lappers and polishers, wet benches, and metrology equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment when issues arise.
  • Apply preventative measures to the building and equipment to reduce the risk of future problems.
  • Identify and fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Liaise with operations to determine their requirements and communicate defects or problems.
  • Provide routine inspections and inform operations of any issues.
  • Keep an accurate log of all work performed.
  • Maintain and clean shop equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a mechanic, electrician, or maintenance technician.
  • Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment and interface well with others.
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocol.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment and small hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of tools, vacuum systems, common appliances, and devices.
  • Experience working in clean room environments desirable.
  • Good written/oral communication, reading, and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach, bend, squat, lift arms over head.
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery.
Pay Range

$35.00 - $38.00 per hour.
