Exhaust System Fabricator Opportunity

OhioMeansJobs Lake County is assisting a Madison-based employer with their recruiting efforts for a skilled Muffler/Exhaust Fabricator. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabricating, welding, and manufacturing mufflers and exhaust systems, or be willing to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, weld, and install exhaust systems
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Use tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal components
  • Ensure parts meet quality standards
  • Inspect completed systems
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Follow safety protocols
  • Assist in other shop duties

Requirements:

  • Experience as a muffler fabricator or similar role
  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding
  • Able to read technical drawings and a tape measure
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Works well independently and in a team
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in welding or metal fabrication
  • Experience with fabrication equipment
  • Knowledge of vintage automotive exhaust systems and components
