Job Title: Custodian

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a cleaning schedule to maintain the facilities in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Perform general custodial duties, including cleaning and light maintenance of facilities
  • Assist the grounds person as needed
  • Perform scheduled monthly, semi-annual, or annual janitorial duties, such as floor waxing, painting, window washing, and carpet cleaning
  • Provide setup and cleaning of facilities for all activities
  • Maintain a supply of cleaning supplies and equipment, and properly account for materials and equipment
  • Maintain security of buildings, equipment, and tools
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent education
  • 1 year of experience in a commercial or private maintenance, janitorial, or similar position
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to read directions and label safety warnings
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience in handling janitorial equipment and maintenance tools
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to maintain confidentiality.
