Quality Engineer Job Description

Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join their team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality and compliance standards for fastening solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on their capabilities, quality systems, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures for suppliers.
  • Create incoming inspection work instructions and forms.
  • Use risk analysis methodologies to determine incoming inspection needs and align inspection techniques with suppliers.
  • Ensure purchase orders include drawing, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with processing product returns.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track quality metrics, and drive corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work closely with suppliers to improve product quality, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure suppliers meet aerospace industry quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and identify root causes of quality issues, non-conformities, and defects. Implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier assessments, quality audits, and corrective actions. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or related roles within the relevant industry.
  • Essential experience in supplier quality engineering, including auditing suppliers, managing supplier relationships and driving quality improvements. Previous experience in a supplier quality engineering role within the aerospace industry is preferred.
