About the Role:
NurseRegistry is seeking a skilled Per Diem Eating Disorder Treatment Nurse to join our team. As a Per Diem Eating Disorder Treatment Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced eating disorder treatment facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign and supervise direct care staff, ensuring all tasks are completed and delegated effectively.
- Assess client health and well-being daily, reporting concerns to physicians and documenting findings and interventions.
- Communicate nursing and care plan information to direct care staff daily, ensuring seamless hand-off communication.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to client care plans.
- Develop and maintain client treatment plans, ensuring comprehensive and effective care.
- Participate in client education and lead groups as assigned.
- Coordinate new admissions and ensure a smooth transition for clients.
- Complete Weekly Nursing Update Assessments in the Electronic Health Record system.
- Supervise physician telephone or verbal orders, ensuring accurate implementation.
- Monitor and audit controlled substances, ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure all facility medication policies and procedures are followed, prioritizing patient safety.
- Monitor medication management for step-down clients, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Ensure clients in the step-down program take prescribed medications home, promoting continuity of care.
- Serve as a liaison between physicians and clients, providing clear and concise information about medication changes, appointments, and health-related issues.
Requirements:
- Current California RN License
- Current BLS Certificate
- Minimum 2 years hospital-based clinical experience
- Basic knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years clinical experience in a mental health or residential facility
