We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing proficient patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation
- Function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures
- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory
- Use knowledge and expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
- Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- 2+ years of experience preferred
- Hospital Ortho OR experience preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge and practice of perioperative patient care concepts
- Demonstrate the ability to perform independently as first scrub in assigned specialty areas
- Provide support for readiness and flow of cases to facilitate overall functioning of the unit
- Verify functioning and adequate availability of supplies/instruments/equipment prior to the surgical procedure
