Ophthalmic Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at LC Staffing. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will work directly with patients and our Ophthalmologists and Optometrists, gathering information and performing various tests to prepare patients for their exams.

Responsibilities:

* Review patient history, current medications, and reasons for their visit
* Check vision, pupil reactions, and for any abnormalities
* Perform visual field tests, motility, refracting, instilling eye drops, using a microscope, checking pressures, and performing diagnostic tests
* Dilate patients
* Coordinate patient scheduling
* General office duties and assisting with paperwork
* Learning several different instruments/equipment
* Prepping the patient for laser treatments
* Preparing patients for injections in the eye and in-office minor surgeries

Requirements:

* Previous Ophthalmology/Optometry/Optical experience
* Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required
* Customer service skills with real compassion for patients
* Continue education in ophthalmology with future goals of longevity in this career
