Ophthalmic Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at a state-of-the-art vision care center in Kalispell, Montana. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will work directly with patients and our Ophthalmologists and Optometrists, gathering information and performing various tests to prepare patients for their exams.

Responsibilities:

• Review patient history, current medications, and reasons for their visit
• Check vision, pupil reactions, and for any abnormalities
• Perform visual field tests, motility, refracting, instilling eye drops, using a microscope, checking pressures, and performing diagnostic tests
• Prepare patients for laser treatments and injections in the eye and in-office minor surgeries
• Coordinate patient scheduling and assist with paperwork

Qualifications:

• Previous Ophthalmology/Optometry/Optical experience
• Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required
• Customer service skills with real compassion for patients
