The Department of Medicine, specifically within the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine, along with the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI), is on the lookout for a Director for the UCSF Airway Clinical Research Center (ACRC) to fill a full-time faculty role.

The ACRC director will be responsible for steering a clinical research facility dedicated to studies and trials involving patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This center is equipped with research facilities for the clinical and biological profiling of human subjects participating in asthma and COPD-related studies. The director will manage a team of faculty, trainees, and clinical coordinators engaged in airway disease research, working collaboratively to tackle recruitment and compliance challenges. Additionally, the director will engage in independent research focused on airway diseases.

Essential Qualifications:

• Proven track record of securing research funding in obstructive lung diseases

• Notable contributions to obstructive lung disease research through impactful publications

• Experience in conducting clinical trials or observational studies involving human subjects

• Capability to obtain a medical license in California

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine or Allergy/Immunology

• Proficiency in translational research methodologies
