Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of firmware for new and revised products, ensuring that they meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor firmware engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and maintain firmware for new and revised products, utilizing programming languages such as C/C++ and object-oriented programming.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with design engineers and project leaders to develop new or revised designs, ensuring that firmware requirements are met.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct or support software testing and establish testing requirements to ensure that firmware meets the required standards.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, users, and stakeholders to define software operating requirements and troubleshoot/debug existing issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (BSCE), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or equivalent, with a preference for 6 years of firmware design experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in software version control tools such as SVN or Git, familiarity with the Linux operating system, networking, and multithreaded execution systems.
  • Programming Languages: Competency in C/C++ and object-oriented programming, knowledge of communication hardware such as Ethernet, USB, I2C, and SPI.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to communicate clearly in both written and spoken formats, capability to exchange detailed information and engage in discussions with customers and personnel at various levels.
