About the Role

Grand Canyon Education, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Curriculum Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Curriculum Design and Development department, you will play a critical role in the development and delivery of high-quality courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Course Development: Develop new courses using instructional design techniques, collaborating with academic constituents and subject matter experts to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Design Meetings: Facilitate design meetings with faculty and professional practitioners to discuss course development and implementation.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple course development projects simultaneously, prioritizing project deadlines and ensuring successful implementation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with the Instructional Designer, Editor, SMEs, and project stakeholders to achieve development goals and meet quality standards.
  • Needs Analysis: Work extensively with stakeholders and SMEs to perform needs analysis, develop learning objectives, and design deliverables that meet the learners' and stakeholders' needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Map course topics, objectives, and competencies into program designs to demonstrate that standards are met, and ensure that courses meet quality, productivity, and service standards established by the department.
  • Continuous Improvement: Follow a course revision schedule in accordance with advances in technology and developments in the field of study, and adhere to available guidelines, policies, and technologies to accomplish and track project life cycle.
  • Communication: Maintain regular and frequent communications with development stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of projects, and take appropriate actions to identify, investigate, and resolve issues as quickly as possible.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree required (preferably in curriculum or instructional design).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of curriculum development or instructional design experience.
  • Skills: Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models and methodologies, ability to facilitate-to-consensus, demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a service-oriented, supportive environment, excellent attention to detail and skills in communication, presentation design and delivery, and data collection and analysis.
  • Personal Qualities: Results-oriented, able to organize and independently manage various projects simultaneously, thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, and ability to clearly articulate problems and/or issues and research resolutions prior to management escalation.
