Job Description

Role Summary

The Inclusion Outreach Coach will provide coaching support to school leadership and staff to strengthen inclusive practices. The coach will partner with schools to increase their capability to implement preventative, evidence-based strategies that benefit all students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality coaching support to school leaders and staff to develop inclusive education practices.
  • Support schools to use data to identify goals and plan for improvement and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Departmental regional team members to respond to identified needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with school leaders and staff to build trust and confidence in coaching support.
  • Provide coaching on data-based decision making and Multi-tiered Systems of Support.
  • Use a hybrid delivery model, which may require travel.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data to monitor and report the impact of coaching support.
  • Partner with other coaches and workforces to deliver a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Maintain connectedness and capability support within the hiring specialist school.

Requirements

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Qualifications in special/inclusive education and/or disability.
  • Experience in inclusive education and working with students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
  • A current driver's license and ability to access private transport with approved comprehensive insurance cover.

Working Conditions

  • Working in a school environment with students with intellectual disabilities and additional learning needs.
  • Travel may be required as part of the hybrid delivery model.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant experience and qualifications in inclusive education and special needs.
  • Ability to build relationships and provide coaching support to school leaders and staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other coaches and workforces.
