We are currently seeking a Latvian language and cultural educator to develop and conduct a foundational course aimed at equipping students with essential courtesies and cultural insights to foster effective relationships with local counterparts.
Course Details
The course will consist of 22 contact hours, structured as approximately 2 hours of live sessions each day. The course will be delivered virtually, utilizing an online learning platform. The selected instructor will be responsible for preparation, delivery, and post-course evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive language instruction, including 20 hours of interactive training, a language workbook for student use, and an oral proficiency assessment.
- Create a detailed syllabus, lesson plans, and a workbook that outlines the course content and serves as a reference for students.
- Administer and evaluate an oral examination to assess student comprehension of the material covered.
- Ensure that course design and delivery align with established instructional standards and respond to guidance from program leadership.
- Facilitate live virtual training sessions with participants.
- Maintain regular communication with the Course Manager to coordinate course logistics and evaluations.
- Engage with program leadership as needed.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in the Latvian language.
- A bachelor's degree or a certification recognized by the Department of Defense.
- A minimum of one year of experience in language instruction, demonstrating the ability to effectively engage and teach students.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
