Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

At Soliant, we are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Arlington, Virginia. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and assess students' speech and language capabilities through comprehensive assessments and evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEPs based on assessment findings, working closely with educators, parents, and other professionals.
  • Provide direct therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' communication requirements, promoting a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Track and document student progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary, and participating in IEP meetings to contribute insights on student progress and goals.
  • Educate and train teachers and parents on techniques to support speech and language development, staying informed about the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Virginia.
  • Virginia Department of Education certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
