Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, communicating with patients, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations.
  • Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality.
  • Assist and communicate with physicians, work independently, and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Serves as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety, anatomy, and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
