About the Role:

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the general ledger for multiple entities and assisting in the monthly closing process. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with fiscal policies, practices, and regulations while actively supporting departmental activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular interaction with clients and stakeholders
  • Preparation of business personal property renditions and financial statements
  • Calculation of loan covenants and amortization schedules
  • Setting up and preparing financial reports and statements
  • Managing capital schedules and financial data
  • Reviewing real estate escrow statements and coordinating with lenders and financial institutions
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reports
  • Reviewing tenant financial statements and client financials
  • Correcting and reviewing financial statements and ledgers
  • Communicating with government agencies regarding property tax matters
  • Handling day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Performing filing and online file management tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary
  • Completion of other assigned duties

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Solid technical accounting proficiency and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience in Real Estate and Property Management
  • 5-7 years of Real Estate Accounting experience
  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Proficiency in Windows operating system
  • Understanding of partnership structures and flow-through concepts
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and financial reports
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong organizational, time management, and professional demeanor
  • Good mathematical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
