As a CDL Class A Driver, candidates should possess experience in dynamic environments, including proficiency in operating vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the towed vehicle exceeds 10,000 pounds. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation and a strong work ethic.

This pivotal role reports directly to the Driver Manager, offering opportunities for career advancement within TDRL Enterprises. The successful applicant will be skilled in both dry van and refrigerated trailer transport.

The primary objective is to prepare, execute, and follow up with all stakeholders to ensure continuous service availability. Candidates must meet all service expectations while complying with TDRL Enterprises' policies and procedures. Training compensation is available, and mileage rates are based on experience. Monthly safety incentives and quarterly punctuality bonuses are also provided.

The candidate must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and maintain a consistently positive, solution-oriented attitude. The ideal individual will create a safe, secure, and compliant work environment, equipped with the necessary tools and systems to enhance job satisfaction and support company growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct safety inspections of brakes, steering, lights, and mirrors before each trip to ensure vehicle readiness.
  • Adhere to loading protocols, utilizing chains and binders to secure cargo, and regularly check their stability during transit.
  • Inspect trailers pre- and post-loading, focusing on air lines and jack positions, making adjustments as needed.
  • Visit weigh stations to confirm loads comply with state safety regulations, adjusting as required.
  • Accurately document delivery times and hours worked to contribute to company records.
  • Comply with traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in hazardous conditions, and report unsafe situations to supervisors.
  • Utilize GPS for route navigation and maintain communication with supervisors and colleagues via CB radio and cab computer.
  • Complete long-haul runs between states, averaging 40–60 hours weekly.
  • Document hours worked with precision.
  • Perform regular safety checks of equipment in accordance with company SOPs and OSHA standards.
  • Engage professionally with warehouses, notifying loaders of any delays for scheduled pickups or drop-offs.
  • Follow a consistent schedule of local runs between customers.
  • Confirm and secure products post-loading.
  • Clean and sweep trailers after unloading.
Driver Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record for a minimum of two years.
  • At least two years of experience as a CDL Class A driver without any legal or safety incidents.
  • Pass a drug screening and background check.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to drive long-haul runs between states, averaging 40–60 hours weekly.
  • Accurate documentation of hours worked.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment per company SOPs and OSHA standards.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering products safely and on time.
  • Willingness to work independently while supporting team dispatch operations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships within the driver fleet.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current TWIC Card.
  • Completion of a professional truck driving educational program.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (90% of the time).
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The majority of the work week will be spent in an office setting, performing administrative tasks via phone and computer while communicating with team members. Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds is required. Candidates must be able to sit for a minimum of 8 hours per day and perform standing and climbing tasks as necessary.
