We are seeking a highly motivated Hazmat Emergency Response Technician to join our safety-conscious team in Nashville, TN. This role will be actively involved in field operations, focusing on hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and the safe handling of hazardous materials.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize health and safety by adhering to established policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including light and heavy machinery, hand tools, and powered industrial tools.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately, including respirators, skin protection, face shields, gloves, and footwear in diverse settings.
  • Work effectively in various temperatures and weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Operate within environments that may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals, physical agents, noise, confined spaces, and elevated work areas.
  • Assist with field sampling activities and calibrate meters accurately.
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding, and access trucks, tanks, and containers safely.
  • Work extended shifts exceeding 8 hours as required.
  • Participate in compliance and safety update meetings regularly.
  • Inspect drums for integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Safely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling when necessary.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Uphold company environmental health and safety operating guidelines diligently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Possess reliable transportation to reach work sites.
  • Demonstrate the physical ability to perform tasks outlined in the responsibilities section.
  • Be available for emergency response, including occasional weekend and holiday work. Emergency situations may extend beyond 8 hours, up to 12-24 hours.
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical examination as required.
