Key Responsibilities

As a Certified Respiratory Care Specialist, you will conduct essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients with respiratory conditions across all age groups. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and managing various respiratory care devices.
  • Executing technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary function.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in airway management.
  • Assessing patients, interpreting diagnostic results, and recommending alternative treatments.
  • Performing routine patient evaluations and recognizing respiratory issues.
  • Delivering therapy and reassessing patients promptly while maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborating with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient care strategies.
Qualifications

Experience

  • Preferred experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current state license for Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU staff.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for ICU staff.
