Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our team at Heart Hospital of Austin. As a CRT, you will play a critical role in administering respiratory care to patients, conducting diagnostic procedures, and monitoring patients receiving mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and monitor respiratory care treatments
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to therapy
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanically ventilated patients
  • Record pertinent information in patient's medical record
  • Perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and monitoring
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate respiratory care equipment as required
  • Function as respiratory care protocol assessor
Requirements
  • Acute care hospital experience preferred
  • Graduate of approved Respiratory Certification Program
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy within 90 days of hire
