Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at a top-rated hospital in Austin, Texas. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing education to patients and families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs
Requirements:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • A graduate of a fully accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Two years of current Respiratory Therapist experience
  • Active unencumbered Texas Respiratory Therapist state license
  • Minimum two years as a Respiratory Therapist
Skills and Abilities:
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital
