Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vocational Nurse to join our team at BrightSpring Health Services. As a Vocational Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a home-like setting, working closely with our clients to meet their unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care for clients, following their individualized plan of care and maintaining their dignity and independence.
  • Monitor clients' vital statistics and report any abnormal findings to the case manager and physician.
  • Administer medications, feedings, oxygen, and ostomy care as needed, and document the results.
  • Complete routines established by other care professionals, such as Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists.
  • Ensure infection control policies are maintained at all times, reporting any possible communicable diseases or infections.
  • Accurately document nursing actions, communicate with family, case manager, and physicians, and document progress and outcomes for established goals.
  • Order supplies, medications, and feedings as needed to ensure adequate amounts are on hand.
  • Monitor incidents involving individuals, ensuring incident reports are completed timely and accurately, and case managers are informed.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is maintained and report faulty equipment to Durable Medical Equipment for repair.

Qualifications

  • Proof of current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in good standing from the state(s) of practice.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Ability to work in a home-like setting.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, sit, and walk for periods of time.
  • Able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of individual service plans, including understanding of client rights and health needs.
  • Must have completed post-secondary coursework to facilitate licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
