Job Summary

Vital Medical Transport is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team. As an EMT, you will provide critical care to patients in emergency and non-emergency situations, responding to calls and transporting patients to medical facilities while maintaining a calm and reassuring demeanor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Treat Patients: Evaluate patient conditions, determine courses of treatment, and administer medications as outlined in Vital Medical Transport's approved Standing Medical Orders.
  • Provide Transportation: Safely transport patients between facilities, using backboards and restraints as necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Document Patient Care: Create and maintain accurate patient care reports, documenting medical care provided and observations.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Regularly check and clean equipment, replacing used supplies as needed.
  • Drive Ambulance Safely: Operate an ambulance in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: High School Diploma or GED, State of Tennessee Licensure as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Basic, Valid Driver's License with a good driving record, Current CPR Certification, and skills/experience at the BLS level of service.
  • Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Possess strong interpersonal skills, including compassion, listening, and communicating, as well as problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PHTLS Certificate, ITLS Certificate, National Registry Certifications.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to Elements: Work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
  • Physical Activity: Extensive physical activity, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 150lbs, standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting up to 150 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
